Default SC Setup

I have been told numerous times that if I go to an FI setup then I will have to go to an upgraded Tranny and Rear, but it stops there. I was wondering what exactly "beefing" those parts up included? Is it as simple as a stall converter and new gears? IF so what setup is everyone else using that has proven reliable enough for the street.
Thanks for the help,
Joe

I installed a maggie and after a lot of calles, installed a transgo kit ,,,I also fixed the dreaded rear end leak, and added 373 gears,,,left the converter alone as i did not want to add stall and more heat cause the blower adds enough power, I felt a stall was not needed...The trans I feel is still the weak point....I have had zero poroblems and the car is pretty quick,, I do feel the gears were overkill,,as it smikes the tires way to easy..I feel 342 gears would have been a better choice and most likey a traded set froma m6 would have been cheaper...I plan on doing a flp trans, possible a cooler and new drivshaft couplers thins winter...then it will be prestty damn bullit proof....still plan on leaving the stock converter in unless DTE talks me out if it

i had an 01 A4 and lost two trannys, only minor mods (3:42, 3200 Yank, headers) ... tranny is for sure the weak link.

Is it possible that the Yank breaks the trannys? I would think that winding the engine up before lockup would be good for performance but bad for the gears receiving the torque all at once.
