Default A4 with ATI

I have read numerous posts of members spinning their tires at speeds up to 70 mph, is this only accomplished with the 6 speed cars or does the A4 also have the potential?
Thanks

A4 with 2.73 gears and I can spin from 50 to 70 mph. It gets a little hairy though is you're not careful.

Would you say the ATI is to much power to control on a daily basis, say like a 30 min drive to and from work/school each day?

You can drive it like the family car and even accelerate strongly without worry. The blower only kicks in when you step on the gas, hard. It's like a split personallity. And with the traction control "on" even if you misjudge the amount of power you'll need, it will keep you under control. It truely is the best of all worlds. It would be a good choice rather than HC IMO. Best of all, my gas milage is unchanged.

with most everyone here..... Except my gas mileage is down by about 3-5 mpg's. Noone to blame but myself, it's like eating Lays potatoe chips "once you start you can't stop"!!!

I truly feel the power from an FI car is much better than a H/C car, you don't give away ANY driveability and emissions compliance is also a non-issue.

Doing a set of gears will also really compliment an FI setup around town as most mentioned before, you don't really see boost unless you STOMP IT. It's nice to have a little more acceleration around town to bring the motor into the rpm's a bit quicker.

Let us know what you decide!

Thanks for the help

Hey JR,

That car is simply 9.50's and you're still tuning? Do you still drive the car on the street? How's that FLP IV holding up to all that power?

Sorry for all the Q's, but that is one ride you've got there.

I had traction issues with the stock GY 295 Supercar tires, but am now running Nitto 305 DRs. The problem with the stock tires was that it nearly always broke loose on the 3-2 downshift. Sometimes that's cool, but not when changing lanes in commute traffic, or if there's a LEO in sight.

The Nitto DRs can handle downshifts much better, and often they don't break loose at all on 3-2 downshift.

ATI with the A4. . .you won't regret it. I would strongly recommend, gears + converter + transgo shift kit. I haven't seen too many other people using the shift kit, but for me, it adds so much to the fun of driving!

Regardless, the ECS or A&A setup are both very good choices!
