Default New Quiet T-trim

After reading a post by Mellow Yellow (at least I think it was Mellow Yellow) I wanted to give props to the correct member. I contacted Vortech about my broken Vortech SC.

Shipped back my old broken unit, and they said it failed because of Compressor Surge. I told the Vortech reps that I had been running a large pulley and my car was making about 2lbs of boost and maybe 3lbs at redline, so I highly doubt that could create compressor surge. But they said well that is what our tests showed.

So I asked about the new quiet T-trim. They said so far they had built only one other T-trim SQ for the Vettes but they can do it again. It costs about $1200 for the upgrade.

So they are building me a Heavy Duty T-Trim, with the V2 SQ quiet gear set, but using the T-trim impeller. I should finally get the power of the T-trim but the quiet stealth operation of the SQ. I should have the unit next week for install

Sounds But I'm a little surprised you're willing to continue working with them after their comments about "compressor surge".

Anyways, look forward to hearing how the new head unit performs.

Well it was either spend a few thousand bucks or spend $5000-7500 on a new ATI kit. So I went the cheaper route

Plus the ATI SC are still so whinny. That was what I was wanting to get away from.

I hated the fact that when i drove into a parking lot, everyone said hey that Vette is SC. I wanted a little bit of surprise once I mashed the GO pedal.

Cool, thanks!
You beat me to it. Will be doing this in the future also.

Which cog pulley are you running with it?

How is the turn-around on the upgrade going?
I think they said 2 weeks, not including shipping, eh?

P.S. Remember to ask them for a modified inlet hat. It will need to be .25" larger I think. The rest of the kit fits the same as the S-Trim.

I have the old fashioned style Vortech kit that is on the passenger side, so I have an 8 rib pulley, no cog.

2 weeks almost to the day. My unit shipped on Thursday and should be to Colorado Springs on Tuesday.

Crap I dont know about that modified inlet hat. Oh well, once I get it, if it doesnt fit back to Vortech again.

Thanks once again for bringing this to my attention. A year ago, I was asking everyone if they made a race trim SC that had the SQ gear set and everyone said NOPE. So I guess I got into the SC a year too early. Cant wait to hear how it DOESNT sound.
