Default Arrrg! Bottle Heater Problem...

I'm almost done wth my NX wet kit install. I flip the arming switch on and the bottle heater relay is buzzing and the element isn't warming!? I unplug it and test the rest of the system: functions perfectly.

What's wrong with the bottle heater?! It isn't the relay, as I swapped it with the main system relay and got the same result at the heater. Is my ground bad? I'm grounding other functional things at the same point. I'm wired to spec as far as I can tell. Maybe I'm missing something obvious?

All you wiring gurus and electrical engineers out there, I need help!!!

Thanks in advance.

P.S. - The bottle heater is NX and is pressure-activated rather than thermostat-activated.

I actually had this problem. What I did was eliminate the connector that connects the heater wires to the wires that go to the relay. This prolly makes no sense so basically I hard wired the blanket from relay, I.E. there are no breaks in the wires to the heater. Does this make sense????

Heh, sort of confused. I do have a spade connector between the heater element and the relay green wire - Should I remove that? The other wire from the element is to a grounded bolt in the passenger area. It also has a spade connector for ease of removal.

Another clue: I spoke briefly with a tech at NX. He mentioned something about the 60amp relay possibly being bad... I checked my kit, all relays were 40amp. Just to eliminate a possible cause, I may run by Radio Shack and pick up a 60amp. I'll also try removing the connectors as you have suggested.

Thanks for your help. I'm glad I'm not the only one that's had this problem.
