Half shaft safety loop?

I know this is not directly FI related, but I figured this was a good place to post since driveline carnage is more prevalent here.

So, the c5 obviously does not require a dive shaft safety loop (the tunnel takes care of that), but has anyone heard of half shaft safety loops being used or required on IRS cars?

I've heard some Viper owners talking about having to run them, but I wonder if they really meant Drive shaft safety loop.

I think they mean the drive shaft safetly loop...

As much as a broken half shaft will still suck, it will not catipult the car like the drive shaft would.

There are C2s and C3s with half shaft safety loops but I have not heard of anyone adding one to a C4 or C5

you dont need them since the c5 has a double wishbone suspension. The a-arm will catch the 1/2 shaft.
