But when they call it done, it ought to be.
Funny you should mention that because it took twice as long as quoted, but I thought that was normal for tuners...lol

Actually the shop in question is a Supporting Tuner. I think the biggest issue was not pinning the crank -- and not only not pinning the crank but telling the customer that it is unnecessary.. Geesshhh..

Give them a chance to make things right - and if they don't, ask for your money back. It would be suicide for them to not make you happy - as I'm sure a bunch of their business comes from the forum here - beware nameless tuner - you stand to lose a lot of business by not making this customer happy!!

The dyno numbers sound way low - I got my dyno results today - 465 RWHP and 456 torque. 2004 LS1 MN6, flp headers, corsas - stock heads, stock cam.

Default glad I went to LPE

My LPE installed Mag I/C has been working great, with hood and gauges installed perfectly! For the same price. Just an FYI if someone is looking for a tuner, they did a great job.

Whitelite,
That's harsh, when you spend this kind of money, you expect a certain level of service. If there's anything I can do please feel free to let me know.

Took the car back and all was finally made right but only 378rwhp (stock except for Corsa catbacks). OOPS, fuel guage broken still. Expressed concern about HP but was told that a conservative tune and a Mustang Dyno and that's all there is.
Pick up old parts to find stock hood wasn't wrapped well and has been damaged. They will fix and repaint.
On 10-28-04 I'm troubleshooting on my own and find out the intercooler pump has NEVER BEEN WORKING due to it being spliced into the wrong grey wire coming out of the fuse block.
I don't think the shop is incompetent but I'm nearing my whit's end

I think Randy just needed to vent some of his frustrations not start a witch hunt.

I don't belive for a minute there is anyone here including myself who has had a tuner / shop do a significant modification to their car that has not had to wait longer than was expected to get it back, had tuning problems, had a problem getting the right parts, adjusting a body panel, etc. etc. etc. and if you say that you haven't .

So before anyone should suggest get a lawyer, find someone that knows what they are doing, they are stupid or the other sorted darts that are being thrown think back to when you had your car done.

Lets not throw a excellent shop in my opinion under the bus without giving them a chance to make things right for him.

If there is anything I can do to help you get these issues resolved let me know. This is definitely not in line with the level of service and quality I have received in the past and continue to recieve currently.

Vetzilla, I see your point, HOWEVER, when I picked up my car from the shop, my supercharger was WORKING. Im sure 98% of all superchargers are at the least WORKING when people are told they are done and to pick the car up. This is a simple careless error which to me says it was a rush rush job. You wouldnt go running w/out your shoes tied would you? Double checking should be a habbit and should be expected from a performance shop. Just my .02

The supercharger was working when he picked up the car as for the I/C pump I can't say why it was hooked up wrong but there are alot of grey wires coming out of that box I can see how it might be confusing especially if this was one of the first they had done.

I agree with you on the double checking, however nobody is perfect especially not me even sometimes after I double check something, and I am sure I am not alone here.

As for me going running without my shoes tied thats why they make velcro.

I feel for Randy and think they need to make it right which I am sure they will, if not I will be the first one to say I was wrong. I just hated the whole Cerra incident and don't want to see someone get a bad name unless it is unquestionably warranted.

I think $11k is too much if they're not pinning the crank; that's probably the most labor intensive part of the job because the steering rack has to be moved out of the way (or removed entirely).

Plus, as pointed out, most folks long ago agreed that it was needed on the Mags. I for one am very surprised to hear that a forum tuner would say otherwise.

Zilla,
Don't get your panties in a wad bud. I am just venting at this point and have no intention of doing anything including bashing or calling a lawyer.
However, you were there the night I ran mid 13's and don't tell me you wouldn't be doin a little venting.
On a more positive note I'm taking the car back Monday and they seem to be excited about getting it working and being able to put some more timing into the car to get some more HP out.

Thanks to all you guys for your support

I live in Michigan and if I decided to get that supercharger set-up I would drive to Indiana to have Lingenfelter install it.
