I would go with a NX wet. The kit is about $520.00 and gives you a choice of running as small as a 50, or as big as a 150... Its not hard to install if you know how to solder.

NX wet kit is perfect. You'll love it. The mechanical part of the installation is really easy. It's mostly wiring and electronics. If you know your wiring, you'll have no problem doing it yourself. It'll save you a good bit of money that you can put towards other mods. Good luck. Let us know how it goes.

I don't really know what comes in the kit, but you'll want to make sure you have these other things as well.

-Bottle heater
-Nitrous pressure gauge
-RPM Window switch (I did 3k rpm to 5800rpm)
-Wide open throttle switch (WOT switch)

i have nx 150 on my o2 auto. i haven't worked on any of my autos in over 20 years and i installed the kit myself without any problems.i also bought the genx ii accessory kit, nitrous filter, extra fittings, wires and lines.total cost $1550. also purchased autometer electric cobalt blue nitrous and fuel pressure guages w/mounting pod ($475) to monitor the system.i still need to buy a remote bottle opener ($240) as it gets to be a real hassle to manually open and close the bottle when you need to.with the 100 shot i did a 11.65 1/4 at 120.5mph ,so i think it was worth it.

My 98 has 93k miles on it. I go through at least a bottle a week (I get refills real cheap ).

It's a blast, literally. It's also fun to shoot that plume up over the windshield and roof when I pull up to friends or other club members.

It's more than seat of the pants. It's like a roller coaster ride. I did 3.42 gears and other goodies beforehand which helped also. But be prepared to refill the bottle frequently as it is habit forming and you will need tires if you punch it regularly.

You know, I've been wondering for some time now...how much does it cost to refill a bottle and where in the world do you get them filled? Same place you buy propane for your grill? At your dentist's office?
Just wondering out loud.

Most of the guys on this site like the NX wet kits. But there is another set-up which is probably the most popular for the reasons you stated: cheaper, safer, easyer to set-up and kit comes with everything you need to get started. The kit is NOS brand 5177 dry kit. Remember these intakes were designed by the engineers to run dry not wet. Wet kits can and do blow intakes/hoods off (fuel puddling). You would be hard pressed to find someone who blew thier motor running the 5177. Check out ls1tech.com in the N2O section, you'll find moocho more info on this kit and others. I paid $450 for new kit on internet. Hope this gives you another option before you decide for sure on a kit. N2O is the best bang for the buck. Have fun, Robert.

I used the NX MAF system with the Nitrous Express Maximizer.

Nitrous Express
NX MAF System
Model 20109-10
Billet aluminum high flow MAF housing will increase
airflow and the twin discharge nitrous system its easy to set-up.
Dual outlets machined into the backside of the MAF Housing
allow for the user to use dual stage. (don't need dual if using Maximizer)
Air foil on housing inlet deflects air around the N2O outlet.
This keeps naturally aspirated performance. See Photos of install job here.
