Default D1 Procharger or stroker (help)!!

Okay, Here's my situation, wife gave ok for procharger or stroker. I already have heads, cam,TPIS headers, intake, etc.. made 415rwhp/385rwtq. Fun car, but need more.I think this set up should make good power on 346. I' ll build the lower end to accomodate the power. I think I would go with A&A corvettes kit. You guys with these blowers, would you do it again, do anything different? What fuel upgrade is best. Racetronix, dual walbro? Any one have a head/cam D1, what are dyno numbers? Any and all pros and cons will be very appreciated. Thanks

Both A&A and ECS make great ProCharger kits. One thing I would investigate before you pull the trigger on a blower is your current CR.. Also keep in mind that without some sort of goal for the car you are going to end up going in an endless circle spending money..

Good luck,

Mark

D1 + heads/cam/LTs... will put a 346 in the 650RWHP range. The problem is that heads and cam for NA are not typically good for FI. You can probably use the heads, but the cam will will have to go if you want to get the most out of the setup.

A CF blower car is crazy fast in race conditions (when you run it up to redline) and the pull up top is something that will actually scare you. A NA stroker would be similar to what you have now, but with more TQ and HP (still pretty scary in some conditions). It would not feel near as radical (like spinning the tires at 100mph), but the power would actually be more usable in many situations. One benefit of the stroker is you could always spray it to get that out of control fast feeling when you wanted it.

TPIS builds my motors so it will come apart to get rods, pistons and crank. Probably do billet main caps? I would like to achieve 600-650rwhp. Rear diff is done, gears and hardened out put shaft. Tranny should be fine.Any suggestions on cam. Whats in there now is a INT.231 EXH237 .592/.599 112LSA. How far can you go on a stock crank. Clutch recommendations, Cartek?
Thanks

I agree with QUICKSILVER, I went to a 383 Stroker and a D1SC with a 3.85 Pulley.......I spoke and emailed Quicksilver because he has lots experience on this............I would take his advice. I believe his car is probably one of the best tuned cars in the country. He has the tunning down.

I would stick with the stock crank - guys are running well into the 9's with the stocker without issue. I would go with the dual disc Exedy clutch - MTI is currently running a sale on them.

Thanks for all the info guys. I'm sure everyone that has done a blower car wonder about driveability. I too believe that the tune is everything. Any cam reccomendations?

I just happen to have a 382 Lunati forged stroker with blower heads. ECS did it for me. I was going to put it in a car but am not sure. It came out of a car that is being converted to a track only car with a 427. It has less than a 1,000 miles and only about 6 trips down the track.

The ECS guys were going to put a z06 or maybe a little more cam in it vs the much more agressive cam that is in it now so that I could get it by a sniffer test. It was to be hooked up to a D1 procharger and would do 600/600 RWHP/RWTQ.

I'm sure that they could work out a deal where you either have it shipped or they could put the full set up in for you. Should you have an interest just call them at 609-752-0321 and they would work things out.
