Considering the ECS Procharger for my 2000 Vette. One concern I have is the distance from the installer/tuner. Once the supercharger is installed and tuned is it a set it and forget it or does it require constant maintenance?

Thanks,
The Big Dog

I have been a customer of theirs for years and have been lurking on this site for awhile. I have now decided to come out of the closet.

I have NEVER heard of a dissatisfied customer on a blower package installed in house. I think you will not be either...

even though they did not install my supercharger, they did a lot of other work on my car, heads, cam, fuel system. the quality of their work and customer service is the best. it would be worth it trust me.
not to mention they are the nicest people i ever met.

I live roughly 2 hours from ECS - they installed my kit (stock ATI) and tuned it - I have had issues with my car - but only because i have been changing things - like switching to FMIC and larger injectors... I never had an issue and it has been about a year since my last modification / tune.

I would say it is set-it and forget it when done right, (upgrade the fuel system)

Good Luck - you cannot go wrong with ECS

It's worth the $$ to have your car shipped to ECS..

I'm a former shop owner who has since closed my doors.
I did my Mag install along with my other goodies when I was open.
When I didn't have acess to a dyno any longer I stumbled across ECS and had them install a cam, springs, timming chain and tune the car again.

Chris, Doug and Mark are all a class act and run a first rate shop who stand behind everything they do.

I'm in the process of doing a custom one off TT set up with the boys along with a forged 383 and some other goodies. Being I used to do 90% turbo installs in the import tuner market all I can say is that I have full faith and trust in my project having them doing a turn key project.

So in other words ECS rules.

In answer to your question once you do a S/C your done.

That is untill you feel you have the need for more.

I’ve been a mechanic for 33 years and normally do all my own work. My car has an 5 yr. 100,000 mile extended warranty with $0 deductible and I still do my own work, don’t trust any shops to touch my car. When I can't do something myself, ECS is the only place I go.

Top notch service, great prices, and excellent customer service

I gave the guys my 2001 with only 2,700 miles on the clock - you can never tell they had my car apart

Send them your car, you will not be disappointed with the outcome.

I live in Houston so I haven't had the oppurtunity to bring my car to ECS, but I can tell you those guys are top-notch. I had a long talk with Doug @ ECS on the phone yesterday about a blower bracket for my car. He definitely knows his stuff, he was very professional, and took the time to explain a lot of things to me.

I'm as picky as they come when it comes to shops wrenching on my car, but I can tell you I wouldn't think twice about having ECS do a blower install on my car. It's unfortunate for me that they aren't closer.

I would certainly recommend ECS!! They were having all kinds of issues getting my Vette to take a tune, finally after two new computers and a bunch of street miles & dyno spins..... They got it tuned right!

Heck, there was a time in their shop my car was known as "dads01nightmare". But, rather than be defeated they hung in there and made it work.

Great bunch of guys there and they know their stuff.

No sweat! Have you been busy with more Vette mods, or just life/work in general? I'm sure many guys are going to be trolling around with a TON more power next season than last.

Winter has a way of doing that to most cars!

Oil change have to be done at first 500 miles and I think 5000 miles thereafter. On occasion, you may need to change the belt.

Thanks for the kind words guys!
Big Dog, it's a "set it and forget it" deal. Most of our customers are from out of state so a situation like yours is not at all uncommon. I'll give our most recent example, we had a car dropped off yesterday that we had installed our kit in 9-10 months ago. The customer is about 25-27 years old and has taken the car to the track a few times. It now has 7k on it from the install and he is on the origanal belt.

Oh btw, he is back for a forged motor.

Big Dog once it is tuned it is good to go. Doug and Chris are good guys and do a great job at their work, there is nothing like being a tuner and being able to talk to one another we at MDMC say TOP NOTCH go for it.
