What kind of insurance breaks do you get when you get married and turn 25?
I am doing both before June 1st this year, and I am looking for the right C5 right now. Is it true that the older the car, the lower the cost? Should I look for a 97 exclusively?
Alot of variables come into play when looking for car insurance. Age, city/state where you live, driving record, number of past claims, credit report, mutiple car discounts, desired deductables, and probably a whole bunch of things I'm leaving out can have a bearing on insurance costs.
I'm in the process of buying an 02 vert. I have found the liability doesn't change with the year model. Being a vert is more expensive.
Now, I'll give you the real life facts.
I'm 54, excellent driving and credit ratings. I live in a small texas town. I got a quote today for full coverage with $500 comp deductable & $1k collision deductable for $742 per year.
Hows does that shape up to what you expected to pay?
I pay virtually the same amount for a 99 vert and an 04 coupe. There's no reason for a convertible to be more than a coupe. Nor should I have to pay liability 4 times over when I have 4 cars and only two drivers. Insurance companies get away with murder.

You'll save a ton. She'll make you sell the Vette for a Cobalt which is damn cheap in insurance...ha ha ha
As mentioned above there are a lot of variables here. Your best bet is to speak with your agent. Too, you may want to check around with agents/representatives for some of the various companies that service your area/state. Just keep in mind that cheapest may not be the best.

I agree - talk with your agent. They should be able to run a "what if" quote for you based on your driving record, location, etc. However, generally when you get married and turn 25, the rates take a nice drop.
