i have an a4 and so far im planning on these mods,
1. vararam intake system
2. 3.73 gears
3. Z06 cam?
4. dyno tune
advice required thanks alot guys!!!
When changing the gears, you should also switch to a higher stall torque converter. They kinda go hand-in-hand. Especially going to the 3.73's.
Forget the Z06 cam, for all the work involved to do a cam swap, get something that will actually make a noticible difference....perhaps something like the Thunder TR224, one of the best mild mannered-yet powerful cams ever made for these engines.

Forgot the Z06 cam. There are a lot better cams out there. Gears, T/C, headers, and intake will make a world of difference alone, without going into the motor.

Good advice
Don't bother with a Z06 cam......there are much better choices out there for more power.
Not to hijack the thread but here's whats awaiting (I mean in my basement) for me:
1) Dynatech Supermaxx Headers with Hi-flow cats and x-pipe
2) Magnaflo (15713) cat back
3) Vararam (2B)
4) Elite Engineering Abs of Steel "backbone"
5) Awaiting -- O2 extensions (special for '04)
6) On to VetteDoctors for baseline Dyno, install and Dyno Tune
Total investment -- $3450 including install and Dyno tune. Talk about the Mod bug, bitten for sure but can't wait
