i am still and gettin closer to getting a c-5 vette, my question is the modles that did not come with the HUD can it be installed? and if so what would i need?

HUD can be done to any C5! It just depends on what year, as some years did not come with the HUD capability cluster. If that was the case, you would need to buy a HUD supporting cluster and have the mileage programmed to what your existing mileage is now. You would also need a few more parts, but it can be done. Check on the parts for sale section and look for forum member PaceThis as he has the programmer for programming your cluster if you need to get a different cluster for the HUD. He could tell you all the part you would need. If I'm wrong he will correct me,lol!

well i am still looking for a vette, i have a few memebers that i have talked to on the forum, but i have to wait till my stealth r/t tt get back from the shop then i can sell it and get a better car
kool thanks for the quick info, i found a 1999 hard top vette black 6 speed, with only 11,000 miles i think i can get it for 25k too, i am not sure if it has hud though, and i think of the many joys of owning a c-5, is the HUD

Can be done. There have been a few forum members here that have made the change to their cars. The HUD first came out in '99, so if you get an earlier model, the cluster will have to be changed also. Its a very nice option to have in my opinion.
I would look at a conversion that has been done first in the day light. The cars that came from GM with the HUD have a different windshield than the ones that did not come with it (special coating of some kind to justify a stupidly expensive windshield). Not sure how much diff it really makes.
