I have a 99 FRC M6 black on black vette. I read somewhere that there was only like 4000 FRC vettes produced in 99. I was wondering if anyone knows where I could find info on how many black/black 6-speed FRC were built? Just curious. Any help is greatly appreciated.

All FRCs are 6 Speed. In year 2000 there were even fewer than 2100 built
Funny? I went to that place and took a look. http://www.idavette.net/facts/2000endpro.htm
It shows 2090, FRC in 2000. If you look it says that 2053, came with the, REAR AXLE RATIO – 3.42 (6-SPD. ONLY)? What was the other 37 built with? And where are they?
I don't see any other option listed for this? Might be nice to have one of the 37?

Some good information can be found on the Idaho Corvette web site. The Corvette Black Book says 4031 hardtops were made in 1999, but it doesn't give the breakdown by color.
JetVette...all FRCs came with only a black interior and six-speed. Here's a detailed breakdown on FRC production numbers, including options. http://www.c5frc.com/

Depending on how FRC is used it could be three things, as in the case it is Fixed Roof Coupe. It could also mean Fuel Rail Cover and the contexts that you don't want to us it in is Flying Roof Club
When I said rare, I meant how many black FRC were made. I know that my car isnt actually rare. Just curious how many were made. Something like 1200. 400 something with the HUD. That sounds like a limited amount to me. So Im sure that theres less than 400 thats black with the HUD option.
Thanks for all the help guys. Anyone know of somewhere where all options can be narrowed down to find exactly how many duplicates there are of my car?
No such place that any of us have found (and the question comes up a lot). Best you can do is by percentages. If of 1000 made 40% were black then 400 were black. If 10% of the 1000 had HUD then about 40 are black with HUD. Assumes an even distribution of all the percentages, but is probably pretty close.
Dont know but I would like too, seeing how I a 99black FRC, mine has HUD, light package *fog lamps*, I know hud was not offered till the end of 99, so I dont think to many have it....
but I would like to know how many of me are out there!
I think 1 of 40XX is rare, not as rare as some, but I really dont ever see any hardtops, when I go out for a ride,, ton of coupe and verts tho.

To expand on what Big Joe said - supposedly GM does not maintain breakdowns to that level - they'll tell you how many were made in a color and a bodystyle, but that's about it. The best you can do is extropolate the number. I can certainly understand why they don't maintain that level of detail.
Having said that, I've got a black '99 Hardtop with most of the availble options for the Hardtop (HUD, Power Drivers seat, etc). I believe the only options I don't have is lighted vanity mirrors and hood light. Both are fine by me. I have swapped out the wheels because I like the looks of the Y2Ks better. Yeah I know 2000 Hardtop poser, blah blah blah. I'm holding onto the wagon wheels for "restoration" purposes only.

Your passenger-side key cylinder lock will give you away since it was eliminated on the 2000 model. I agree with you on the looks of the Y2K wheels.
