Default Deltran Battery Tender Plus

I have been using this product for my motorcycle for 10+ years and just looked up the topic on our forum and hadn't even thought about using one on the C5 (DOAH).

I ordered a separate one for the car and now that it is in lite use mode for the winter, I will not have to worry about the battery.

Such a simple solution to such a big problem.

I am using a schumacher battery tender on my C5 right now during my first winter with the car. $17 at walmart. Seems to be working well thus far keeping my lovely AC Delco in prime condition. Maybe I should get around to buying a red top soon.

Sad but true. The battery in these things will die on you in a heartbeat.

I have a 'Die Hard' tender from Sears. The problem I have is that the negative clamp is not long enough to reach anything metal. I tried going direct to the neg. post, but the red trouble light as well as the orange charging light came on. I was able to clamp to the screw off to the right side of the bottom of the battery where the neg. cable goes too, but the trouble light still comes on.

Which Tender has longer cable length between the positive and neg.clamps? Any suggestions?

I have the "Die Hard" tender from Sears as well. No problems here. Do you have an aftermarket battery? The OEM battery in my 04 has the posts on top, and the "Die Hard" tender clamps nicely to the posts.

No. It's the original battery. The car only has a little over 2000 miles.
