Default Cleaner Rotors & Pads?

I hate the rusty rotors and it seems I spend as much time cleaning the brake dust off the wheels as I do on the rest of the car.

Are there like stainless rotors and ceramic pads that would end the ugly rotor and voluminous black dust problem?

Some zinc washed rotors would end the rust problem. As far as the brake pads, the ceramic pads from GM should work well.

You could also have the rotors powder coated.

Ceramic pads give off lighter colored dust. If your talking about the hubs ... it's simple.
A can of this ....

painter tape and some time to dry. Go from this ....

To this ....

You can grease the rotors and eliminate that nasty friction/heat problem all together.

These rotors have over 55,000 miles on them, and they are four years old.... Doesn't take much work to make them look like this... so it is possible to maintain good looking rotors.. Ceramics are a definite No No.
I use the stock softer pads and I don't have any issues with brake dust..

Less than 1 % of all C5 owners auto cross their car. To the vast majority of Corvette owners, it is a street car. It is funny how people ask how to take care of their rotors, they don't auto-cross, they buy bling rotors and ask for some help to keep them looking nice....and someone always manages to bring up My rotors and the track.... I, like the other 98 % C5 owners, do Not auto cross... they sell thousands of nice looking rotors for these cars, high end Porche, Ferrari, Ford F1, and Mclaren F1 street cars all use drilled and slotted rotors.. Even the New C6 Z06 is using drilled and slotted rotors.. I don't blame anyone for wanting to keep their rotors looking nice... Nothing worse than seeing 6 or 7 thousand dollars wheels with 400 dollar a copy tires, and rusty discolored rotors.. Guess this is why when I post about keeping rotors clean, I get 20 or 30 inquiries at a time..

Mclaren F1 street car
