Does anyone know who makes a system for vettes to make the front and back lights strobe like a cop car-I have seen them on cars and thought it would be cool for parades-would make it a real head turner.i want the front and the back, not just the back.I have read some threads on making the back strobe, but what I am looking for is a complete system for the car?

Whelen is what the police use! My brother purchased some from DTSNGT, a forum member who also has them on his vette, to put on his truck, and they are awesome. They are very high quality. I may take this step soon. Goodluck in your decision.
there are many different type of flash bulbs.... but two main installation types. One type uses a big rubber grommet. You drill a 1" hole and push the (slightly oversized) grommet into the hole.
The other type has mounting ears and requires you to drill holes for screws as well as a 1" main hole. (and a third type is the "twist-lock" type. Not universal at all... they're made to go into specific fixtures & police light bars)
The first type bulb I mentioned (huge black grommet) are best to use on non-flat surfaces.
finding areas to mount the strobe bulbs is challenging. I have one each in the clear front corner lights and one in each rear backup light housing. Of course you need to run a 3 conductor wire to each bulb.
I have quite a few links to police brightness strobe systems:
whatever you do, sdo not waste your money on ricer strobe systems. They are low wattage systems that are ineffective unless it's midnight and without a full moon.
One other caution - do not run these bright systems while on public roads. It's a big no-no that will most likely get your Vette impounded.

Just a note, in some states it is illegal to have these strobe kits installed, even if the lights are not on; it is in TN. If you turn them on during an auto show, and a cop comes by, it is a ticket in TN. Not sure about other states.
I dont think there is a kit thats vette specific. Go togalls.com and look at there light set ups.
Galls.com is the best place to get them IMO. I got the Whelen 6 outlet 90W strobe kit and they are on my truck right now, they are going in the vette soon. They are bright as hell haha!

This is what I have in police car, and is what most volunteer firemen use in thier vehicles. Keep in mind if you use this product there is drilling and cutting required for install. You may want to consider Autozone or Pep Boys, that is where alot of the "ricers" around here by strobelights that fit directly into you OEM lights and do not require a power pack to run them, they come on when the parking lights are on and the vehicle is off. Most of them use them while parked in a parking lot or car show somewhere. It is illegal in our state to run down the road with them on if you are not an "authorized emergency vehicle."
I had installed the Whelen Strobe package installed in my Z16 last Summer. I have the 6 strobe set up..One each in the outer taillights, one each in each back-up lights..and one each in the front cornering lamps....The box is mounted inside the right rear storage compartment of my Z16 and with this unit, I also went to Summit Racing and bought the remote which is mounted on the top of the Whelen box. The strobe remote..allows me to simply turn the strobes on/off with pushing button #1...Button #2 changes the sequence of the flash (9 available patterns of flash)....the #3 button allows me to increase the brightness by 50% of the strobes(great for night cruise-ins).....!! My previous strobes on my other Vettes,I had mounted a toggle switch hidden beneath the dash which was a pain!!...
I have just installed a Whelen kit in my Vette. One in each of the front directional lenses, and one in each of the four red tail lights (my car is euro spec so I do not have the larger back up lenses).
My thanks go to Mike Mercury (aka Tim) for his help and guidance. The installation was a lot simpler than I was expecting and the end result is perfect.
