Does anyone know if the factory magnesium wheels are cast or forged.

Cast from Speedline in Italy...........a very good wheel.
TR is there US rep, here is some info:
http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/speed...dline_info.jsp
I use a few sets Drag racing, auto xing and road racing...40K miles w/o issue.
Some more info......the offset is different to keep front/rear tires from extending past the top of the fender & 1/4 panel per European regs.
http://www.c5registry.com/Production/wheels.htm
We are currently running 275/35/18 front and 295/35/18 rear in these pics and its all inside the body.

You can get a good clean set used for about 1K if you shop around.
What else do ya want to know about Magnesium rims

Steve,

NICE ride. Thanks for all the good info! Big help. I've made up my mind to go with the factory Magnesium wheels. Oh, and by the way, I think you could use another car. How about a yellow vette?

Now you've got me thinking about getting the mag. wheels.
Can anyone verify the weight savings over OEM painted wheels on an '02? From the weights post at the top of this forum, I can't even tell what a ballpark number would be. Thanks in advance.

I'd go to the magnesium before the aftermarket wheels for sure.

I have a set of Mags from my 2004 I could sell them to you really cheap. They're not perfect as a couple of the wheels have slight scratches from parallel parking but in very good shape overall.

e-mail me if interested.

Only reason I switched is cause my car is a Spiral Gray and the Mags looked kinda wierd them being goldish.
