I noticed that my '99 roadster (MagRed/Oak Top) top has begun to fray where the door glass obviously rubs against the top at the outer corner of the glass. Anyone else experience this? Any ideas on how to repair and prevent?
I have heard of this before and I think the fix is to adjust the bows in the top. Whether it's something you can do or something you should leave to a pro I don't know. But I am sure others will chime in to let you know. Let us know how it goes one way or the other.
this issue has come up a few times recently. There are two adjustments one with the top, it is called "tip in" and can be found here on the forum complete with pictures and instructions. The other adjustment is in the window itself. My 98 has this problem and I will be taking it to the dealer to be fixed. If you cant find the thread that describes the fix PM me and I will try to send you the info. I have a hard time fowarding things but do have this fix in my computer somewhere
I found the post I was telling you about. It was posted by C4C5specialist originally 12/29/02 and reposted many times since. Maybe you cam pm him and he can foward it to you

Had that prob a little in the corner on my car. I found that when I put the top up, I push down on the top where the joint is about at the middle of the top of the window (with the door open so you can push it down easily). Also, the tip in adjustment from the two bolts at the bottom of the door helped - no longer have that problem.
