I know "Drive it like you stole it". I Have a few performance mods 3.42s, Vararam. LS1 edit. So she will get up and scoot pretty good (at least good enough for me "for now") When I drive I go WOT probably everytime I drive her. Never from a dead start but on the roll 15-20 mph I nail it to get up to cruising speed 70-75.The only place to do this is getting on the freeway on ramps. Once on the freeway I go with the flow or a little under (MY is about the same color as a ticket). Also on secluded roads I like punching her for short bursts dropping into passing gear or where ever the A4 takes me and up to where ever the beginning of third gear puts me. I don't do burn outs It might scratch when it shifts (tires are to many $$$). I don't shift the A4 manually. I don't drive bad roads and no auto cross like driving ( just some spirited canyon carving). No flaming please I don't do any of this when any other cars or people are around and I have a big life insurance policy on me for the wife. So how's that for irresponsible responibility .
Now driving most any other car like I drive the Vette could be considered abusive. But I didn't buy her to drive her like an old lady. And I figured the Vette is built to take a little more than the average car. Am I abusing my baby? I probably don't drive it like I stole it. It's more like I "borrowed" it. How about you guys and gals how do you drive yours?

I don't think you're abusing it - I think you're enjoying it!
I have an MN6, and until recently I had never switched to competitive mode, revved it up and dumped the clutch. I like carving up twisty roads, and occasionally exceeding the speed limit on the freeway when no one else is around.
I've been told to open it up more, but I just got a ticket back in August in the DD and can't afford another right now.
This weekend when I was on the freeway I set the cruise at 70 (speed limit is 65), stayed in the middle or right lane - until I couldn't take it anymore and had to let those ponies run....just a little!
I drive with the flow of traffic here in San Diego. Which means that sometimes I'm doing 35.... and other days I'm doing 90 on I-8 and getting passed by city busses.
My mn6 is used as my daily driver 110 miles up and down the parkway. I tear it up all the way average 90 mph, 110, 120 when its quiet on the roads. I run rear and front bumper mounted radar detectors, but most importantantly I have been doing the same commute for 10 years and have a good idea when and where the troopers are. 1 ticket so far since I bought the vette 88(slowed because of traffic)trooper wrote it for 67mph. I love the power and control the vette gives me!!!Drive on!!
Most of the time I drive like a grandma. But when my brother or my friends are around... i put on a show. My girlfriend loves the car but hates when i hit it without her knowing prior. I think it's fun to put her head to seats fast. haaha. As far as being on the interstate, i drive 10-15 over usually with the flow of traffic. I've found that many times when i am speeding the cops don't even pull me which is strange??? Maybe it's the corvette respect thing???
I'm a street racer from the 60's. I let it all drop for 30 yrs, but I never lost the thrill of speed. I bought an 04 coupe when I retired and I let it rip when ever i'm alone on the road.
I baby it most of the time in my speedy average mph of 33.2 in Dallas traffic, but sure enjoy getting into it at least once or twice during the commute!
On ramps are fun. There's a fairly long on ramp near work where, when traffic is light, I like to stop at the base of the ramp to wait for the ramp to clear, then gun it from a standing start, hit 100 then slow down to 70-75 to merge onto the Interstate. Not very often though. Wouldn't it be nice to vacation in Germany with your Vette?

I like your analogy of driving it like I borrowed it. I am pretty much the same. I think it's like a motorcycle in a way that you have to keep it cleaned out if you want it to run. And last year I tried an autocross and loved it. I couldn't believe how the car handled it. It was like tossing a bike around just awesome. I was so impressed. So this year I may try it a couple more times. And whenever I am in the twisties alone I can have some fun there too.
