How many of you guys are using this differential strut? Please chime in. I'm getting ready to order a DTE Stage II differential with 3.90 gears. I'm going get their pinion support as well. I'm on the fence about this strut. I'd rather not spend the money, but I don't want break the differential and end up buying a new differential and *then* buy the strut.
For background, my car will probably see about a dozen passes a year at the drag strip (if that). I'll probably be doing 3500 to 4k launches on Nitto 305/35/18 drag radials. I'm putting down 437 rwhp and 400 rwtq (see sig for dyno graph). From previous experiences in an f-body, I know that it only takes one hard launch to break a rear end.
Dude....just buy it. You are already spending well over $2k for the Stage II's, whats another $400 on the strut.
DTE just did a complete new package on my car and I had them do it. Think of it as insurance. If anything fails, its going to cost you way more than $400 to fix it. This could/should prevent most failures.
$400 is $400 that I don't want to spend unnecessarily. That is why I'm asking for feedback. In theory, it sounds like the right thing to do.
DTE says that this should help prevent failures, but I sure would like to hear from people that are using it. If everyone using it is happy with the purchase, then I'm in.

Is yours an automatic? I've been waiting for my M6 strut.... Not that I need it that quick but I wanna see a bunch of pretty red metal!
Yes, mine is an A4. Phil and crew at DTE released the MN6 version before the A4, and have only recently released the A4 version. The A4 tranny is a lot larger than MN6, and hence there is a lot less space to have a diff strut. They only recently figured a way to make it fit.
stangkiller18, did yours explode with the diff strut installed?

No, i briefly experienced some wheel hop, at the drag strip, dusting off my tires approaching the line. It just went POP, i thought i just hadn't put it in gear all the way...but when it didn't move a second time, i shut it off we pushed it back, I knew i was in big trouble when the guy started moping up oil and picking up pieces of metal.
I was/am running yokohama's i believe...I'm going back to my kumho's once these are burned up.
