looking to change out existing color of my interior.. gray to black.Has any one ever dyed there floor and trunk area carpet or do i just go and replace it all,, its in great shape,, so i was thinking about just the dye... but thought i would ask around first... thanx
Personally I would keep the gray interior, but if you were going to change the color-I would buy new black carpet.Using any dye is messy and the quality when you are done sucks-every time I have seen it done, you can tell.IMO you should buy new carpet and keep the old so if you don't like it you could change back or when the black wears out you could have a replacement. If cost is a factor you could sell you gray carpet to defer the cost of new carpet.Just my $.02
Yes, other parts can be successfully dyed/painted...but replace seats/carpet and you'll be happier...even if you have to buy new carpet, it's not the end of the world...or you could go to a trim shop and have them put in some nice wool carpet...could probably be done for $500-1000...
well first of all,,,, thanx to all who replyed.. and i started with floor mats in nov/04 and going into 6000 later, guess i will opt to shop for the right thing... thanx again
