What things make a Corvette show successful?
I learn something every day.
I've never heard Hooters described that way. I gotta remember that one.
But you do have a point. It can be difficult to view/judge cars when distracted by wings and things.
Let's see how many guys can find my car in this picture..

If not hold two shows at once on that is for Vettes and a open show...the cost is not that big a deal and you will raise more money with attendance if open to all cars.
Contact Mid-america, Ecklers, Corvette central and Pro-team they will send you freebies to give out or usein goodie bags.
Try to have something small for everyone who attends even if just a dask plaque...they are usually less than a dollar.
I have used Great lakes trophy and Daytona trophy in the past and they both do a great job.
Hope for good weather and try to mix it up for the judging if it is a open "peoples choice" show.
You can do something like last digit in the model year such as all 53,63,73,93,03 in one class 54, 64 , 74 and so on..... or color but if you do this Red will be over run.
I would also suggest go to as many shows before yours and just watch and ask questions
Most important thing is have things in order to get people regestered and paked quickly and have plenty of volunteers to help in every area
Also, as someone else pointed out, get the word out! Local papers, trader's post, parts stores, other car clubs, websites, anywhere they'll let you post a flyer or ad, do it. I think the Traders post will let you advertise events like this for free.
And don't forget Ft. Campbell,
I don't know if they have a club on post, but that could generate a lot of interest. The best idea I've seen here yet though is HOOOTERS! You can't lose!!
One last point, you're not going to make everyone happy. I go to a lot of shows, to see the cars and meet people. If I show mine I give it a quick once-over when we get there, then go to look around. I never understood the guy who trailers his $50k car to a show, spends so much time micro-detailing it he doesn't get to talk to anyone, (other than an occasional grunt when someone says 'nice car') Then pouts like a two year old when he doesn't win a $10 trophy. But to each his own.
Good luck with your show Rick, I hope it's a big success!
