Default Painting calipers

I'm interested in painting my calipers Nassua Blue. I was wanting input on where the majority thiks I should get an awesome matching color, how much paint, and the steps I might want to take in finishing the task. Anything would be helpful.

The 4oz can from Ken Fitchner or any parts counter should be enough and a good primer.

I think it will look great, I would just get some spray paint that is real close and mask and spray, I will be doing this as soon as I can think of the best color for me.

You can also use a small brush. No over spray and quick clean up. Post some pics when your finished..........

Billy, I have a set of blue powdercoated calipers off my car if your interested. They are very close to nassau blue. I'm upgrading to Wilwood's all the way around. What is your email so I can send you some pics?

What was said above plus just make sure you clean the surface of the calipers very well. I sprayed on a lot of brake cleaner, then went over the area with some fine steel wool, then sprayed cleaner again. The result was a surface that the paint could really stick to. Good luck.

Depending on how dirty they are, I just cleaned mine with brake cleaner using a brush and applied three coats of color (black) and never took them off the car.

Take your time !

I used a Rustoleum Metallic spray paint that I bought at Home Depot in Houston. I am not sure they still make it as it was 4 years ago.

To get the corvette lettering to stand out after the caliper is panted, I used a firm sanding block with 180 grid to sand the paint off the letters.

Before I started sanding I put a strip of 2" masking tape on each side of the letters to protect the paint.

I seem to remember someone saying you can srape the paint off the raised letters with a razor blade once you finished as well.
