battery bypass
my car will be in a car show where it is required to disconnect the battery or have a switch to turn it off. i've seen some battery bypass switches that have an extra connection to keep energy supplied to radio, etc. so all is not lost. has anyone used this set up? does it work? just don't want to lose the radio presets, memory settings, key fob settings, etc. thanks for the input!

Haven't used a device like this, but it does sound like a good thing to have if you enter shows. Sure beats having to reset the radio all the time.

The only way to retin memory functions and retain use of the radio is to have another battery in the car. That would defeat the purpose of disconnecting the main battery. I attend alot of shows that "require" battery disconnect and not one of them has ever enforced it. I use a inverter in my car. It changes 110v over to 12v so I do not run down my battery. I believe if you have a high quality invereter you could disconnect the battery and have the car run off of that alone. I have never tried it though.
