The one and only trip to the dealer left me with greasy fingerprints on my black ver t top right behind the windows. I've tried the RaggTop cleaner and it didn't remove it very well. Is Simple Green worth a shot? If I use SG, should I dilute it a bit before putting it on?
To clarify a bit, there are four finger points that most people don't notice, but to us Vette folks, they jump out at you. I don't think it would be worth a trip to the dealer, it's been a while, and just not worth it to expose the car to them again...
Sorry to hear about the grease . I would take it back to them and see what they say. They can't deny they did it, the guys print is right there. Keep us posted.

dont you need a new canvas anyways.
personally i wouldn't use SG on my top .. but maybe if you dilute it, you should be ok.

I agree, let them take care of getting the grease off. The other option is go to a shop that does convertible top installs and see if they have something that would work. Good luck.
SG should be alright. Diluted and after cleaning a good rinse I can't see it being detrimental in anyway. Then put some protectant on the top and your good to go. Keep us posted.
I think that dry cleaning fluid will work. It's designed NOT to harm fabric.
The name is Energine Spot Remover and it's made for exactly that kind of problem. Available in a small can just about anywhere. Try a small area first but I think you will be pleased with the results.
If you decide not to take it back to the dealer to have it cleaned, check with the folks over in the Car Care Products section of the Forum to see what they recommend. Several knowledgeable people hang out over there. Good luck.
I had a drop of oil on my rap top after a recent trip. Im not sure how it got on there, but it was a drop puddle and as I was driving, it dripped towards the rear about 8 inches. I sponged it up, and washed the top with soap and water doing the spunge up method rather than scrubbing. I got most of it, but I cant see there is a drip stain there. It was 34 degrees out when I was washing the car. I figure the top is down more often than not anyway,
