Six years and 56,000 miles...
And I just got a chance to meet the magical fuel gauge
... ... Nothing like blocking the center lane of traffic as people are on their way home from work. It was getting pretty nasty, almost as if people hated Corvettes 
The fuel gauge was still showing an 1/8 of tank and the Vette began to sputter to a crawl, and stopped.... Damn

Man, that sucks!!! Since I first heard of the fuel guage issue a couple of weeks after I bought my 01, I keep the tank full and judge the tank level by miles travelled.Sorry to hear about this bad luck

In retrospect did you happen to notice any telltale signs of extremely low fuel or did the enging just cut without warning? Any sputtering of the engine or sluggishness in the throttle?

It felt like when the Traction Control is engaged. So out of habit I was trying to feather in some more pedal, but it didn't give me anything back. If this happened on an empty road... you might be able to get a roll of 1/4 mile.
