hey guys, i have a friend with a single turbo 3rotor in a 89' RX7... he put down 409rwhp on 8psi and turbo doesnt gain potential till 15psi (GT42) now the thing is he spend so much $$ hes tires are 18 x 7.5 so he has nooo grip at all. when he does have the tires and gets the boost problem fixed he will be 550rwhp (est.) what would a z06 need to keep up. i am realy looking into one because my girlfriends uncle has one and man they are just simply amazing machines. i see quite a few are supercharged and not too many twin turbos. now im a bmw guy so a little out of my league here so im reading some of the mods in the forum and am not sure what they are (lol) i have been reading posts for about 2 hours and noticed how easy the Z gains power from intake, exhuast and chip compared to other cars. does anyone have a rly good performance site for the Z06, i was looking at a yellow 2002 one for sale with 36 000km and is askin $42 999 CND. thanks for all your help in the future.
Seen your post-I have an 03 Z with half the miles of the one you mention and currently for 38K. Garage kept, never driven in rain, washed with distilled bottle water and showroom condition. If you want a deal, give me a call.
ill chime in here. the rx-7 you said is a FC correct? they weigh about 2800-3000, the Zo6 weighs in at about 3100 or so so weight isn't to much of a factor like you think it might be. the 3 rotor engine is a really amazing rotor motor especially with that turbo gt42r is really disgusting. you said he'll have about 550 est. so this car is gonna be a sick fast car from a roll! from a stop it may be another story rotarys make no torque at all its all from when the turbo spools. On a car like that id say about 4.5k in the rpm band. Also driver comes into play as with any race. id say for the zo6 to be competive with that forced induction or a big cubed motor in my opinion. id say you need to have the same or a little less hp, but id say you'd beat him just because of the torque difference. just saying what i think i would do in your situation.
ya lol the 3 rotor is not ported or anything. so from a bridge or street port theres an extra 100-200hp... i rly appriciate the info as its very helpfull, what setup would u run tho? like what turbo or super with what exhuast and so on?
