Default New Corvette Owner!!! [large pics]

Hey everyone! I just bought my first Corvette, a 2000 NBM 6 speed Z51 Coupe. I got a great deal on it from a really nice local guy (I won't state price or name out of respect for his privacy). It came with a Blackwing, Borlas, and an X-Pipe. I've been reading the forum for over 2 years but wanted to wait until I finally got my dream car to start posting.

First off, this car is awesome!!! It exceeded my expectations, which were already very high. The power is incredible and the way it sticks to the road...just thinking of it is making me grin like an idiot. Now I understand what this "perma-grin" everyone has been talking about! Even my parents, who are by no means car enthusiasts, are in LOVE with the car. It wouldn't surprise me if I came back home over spring break and there was a brand new C6 in our driveway!

A little aside, the Borlas sound fantastic. Cruising at 60 in 6th gear there is NO noise/resonance whatsoever. But as soon as you get on it...wow. Let's just say the phrase "wake the dead" fits perfectly.

A little about me: I'm a senior at Virginia Tech (graduating in May) double majoring in Economics and Political Science. I just made the 4 hour trip down 81 from Northern VA to Blacksburg. However, it took 8 hours due to an 18-wheeler fire that shut down the interstate 4 miles in each direction. No sweat though, just more time I got to spend with my new baby Oh yeah, I was averaging between 30 and 33 mpg on the highway; fyi my old VW GTI VR6 got the same mileage, and had ~150 hp/torque less than this monster.

On to the pics:

A few of it in the driveway (yes, that is snow on the ground).

Getting her first meal

Stopped on I81 for 2 hours

Well that's it. I look forward to getting addicted to the best forum on the internet, as well as participating in the England Green flaming threads

My best to everyone!

Congratulations!!! and welcome. You will love how this color of blue reflects and seems to change from blue to black. I have the exact same year and color and love it. You will also find driving in the snow is not a big deal as long as you are not going wild, that active handling does quite a job.

Congrats That is a beautiful ride!
