Convert clear top to solid?
I have a clear roof panel that's starting to lose its finish in a few places. I assume there's some kind of clearcoat on there that's coming off.
Anyway, I've never been a big fan of the clear top, so I'm thinking about painting it to match the body. I've never seen a solid top up close; is there any kind of padding or headliner in them?
Anyone ever done this? Any problem with painting the lexan, or whatever it's made of?

the solid top is lined, which I am sure cuts down on wind noise. You could try offering a trade (or a trade with cash) for your top in C5 Parst. Maybe someone wants a clear top that has a solid top in your color....

There are a few forum members here that have painted their clear tops to match the body color. On the solid panel, there is a headliner installed.
