I have heard of FRC(fixed roof coupe) corvettes before, but not until recently have i looked into them. But i am finding information to be sparce, so i was wondering if anyone out there knows anything about these corvettes, if you do then please share what you know.
They had the original hardtop shape (like the 2001-2004 Z06s).
They were from 1999-2000, pretty rare I guess.
They weight about 3200lbs, making them lighter then the coupes and convertables, and I think the same as the Z06s

and the ever popular, all Z06's are FRC's but not all FRC's are Z06's.
I believe they were thought of as an entry level Vette, costing less than the coupe or vert. I bought mine used, and I have more than made up any "savings" by spending my time here and sending my money off to various vendors and forum members in Mod money

You won't find an automatic in the FRCs, no targa top (as the name implies), '99 and '00 had same 345 HP engine as the coupe and vert. Nice cars if you can find a clean one. Would like to have one myself.

All FRC came with Z51 performance/handling package. The options were limited, to keep the weight down. GM had been pestered by autocross enthusiasts and other weekend track people for a race ready car. This was their reply. It's worth the time and effort to find just what you want. I looked for 9 months, with the help from a broker, to find my 1999 Black FRC. Look for articles in these magazines if you can find them: Sept. 1998 Automobile Mag.,
July 1999, & April 1999 Motor Trend. Also, '99 Dealer brochures are always for sale on Ebay.

I have seen this mentioned elsewhere before, that "All FRC's came with Z51 Package" But I have a VIS / Build Sheet of a 2000 FRC with the FE3 Suspension, and NO mention of the Z51???
What is the difference bewtween the two Packages??
And could the car have both, and the FE3 is the only one documented?

Thank YOU! Larry
FE3 includes Z51 and power steering cooler, I believe. All Hardtops also had power steering coolers.
I looked for almost a year to find one with HUD and dual zone, options are hard to find in the FRC. Got lucky one day, guy came into work with one for sale, even the color I wanted (nassau blue) all things come to he who waits.
Take a look at my avatar and you'll see a 99 FRC...with custom paint of course ;-) It has HUD, but not dual zone climate control. I've totally replaced the stock stereo since it wan't BOSE. As far as rarity, the most rare color for the FRC in '99 is Nassau Blue followed by Arctic White (much nicer than Speedway White IMHO).

Another brother!!
Mine's got the HUD, dual-zone A/C, lighting package, power seat, fog lights and had the Bloze w/CD changer. Now sports a DVD system with three 10" subs in the back.
I was told once by C5 geek that only ~40 white hardtops received the HUD. In all the years I've owned this car I've only seen one other white HT and it was going opposite of me on the interstate
