weight difference: glass top/painted top
anyone check this out ?

I believe the painted weighs in at more lbs. but I am unaware of the exact difference. Unless you are really into racing and really need to save that weight, it shouldn't matter either way.

The "glass" Lexan top is much lighter. It's thinner and doesn't have a liner.

Last year someone asked, so I weighed both of mine....If I remember the glass one was #18 and the hardtop was #22.....I will weigh them again tomorrow.

The painted is much heavier. Not sure of the exact weight of each one, but when I had my '99 (both tops), the painted one was definitely much heavier.

Ok I just weighed them both and the weights are..........
The glass top #18.5 pounds
The painted top #23 pounds

The clear top lets in the sunlight which warms the air inside the car. Warm air weighs less than cold air so you can estimate a 50 pound weight reduction for every 10 degree increase in the temperature.
