To install the alternater cover you have to release the tension on the serpentine belt to get one of the alternator bolts out. Which means you have to release the belt tentioner, if you dont do this the the large alternator bolt wont come out - therefore you cant install the new cover. Please belive me on this one as we tried on Friday last. My buddy who is also a mechanic was with me and without taking off or releasing the serpantine belt, the alternator bolt wont budge.

Its on okay, its just more of a pain than some of the other stainless pieces. But if you are going to do it also but on the tensioner cover at the same time as you have to loosen that as well. Just my .02
The cover is 89 and a chrome alternator is over 500 and my car is a DD. When it goes out I would have spent 500 not 89. But I do like them just to much money.

they look GREAT !!!
I always figured that the covers just hold in heat and never went for them, just my 2 cents. As long as I feel this way, I dont spend my money for them. They do look good, but for covering up an alternator, I would rather see it , than cover it.
