Shift **** adaptor help.
OK. So I finally found a **** I liked, bought it, brought it home.
It says "AT shift ****" (Automatic Transmission) . I got three plastic sleeves (three different sizes), to go over the shifter, which I'm supposed to then then slide the **** over. Only problem is, I can't secure the **** on the plastic sleeve. Problem: The **** pops right off. The plastic sleeve isn't attched to anything.
I've seen the $50 adaptors. Here are some Q's:
1. Do these work with any ****?
2. Are they available @ Pep Boys, Etc?
3. Anything similar I can use?

Dave,
I just bought one about 3 minutes ago, that's why I had the link handy. I'm hoping to get a custom billet T-Handle from Stuart (like Stuzvette & Grumpy) for my A4 - should be way

Does anyone happen to know the thread size of the auto shift post?
I have this adaptor, and like it, except it makes the shift **** up too high. Thinking of adding about an inch and a half of thread, then cutting it down, to get the **** back to where it should be.

I gotta run around here and see what I can find. I'll order one, but I want it NOW! LOL. Those personal ones are I've always liked Stuz and Grump's. Thanks for the help.

Sorry Sempi, I don't know. Hopefully someone else will pipe up.

I asked the same question a while back, and the answer is that there is no thread on the A4 shifters, it is held on with that little clip - not thread.
I have the A4 adaptor and a manual type **** at home. I am just waiting on my redline shifter boots to come in to install all the parts at once.

I had this done, sorry I don't know what thread/pitch it is, but it's the same as the C5 MN6 ****. Hope this helps.
