C5 Cabin Ventilation
Has anyone found, seen, used any device like vent shades etc. to help keep the interior cooler in the summer. I saw a device which uses a solar cell to drive a small fan to help with my problem but I was afraid it would screw up the rubber moldings. I live in the south and summers are long and hot and unfortuately the Vette now has to be in the sun for extended periods of time.

Get a good tint job on the windows and buy a sunshade for the windshield. That should help keep the temps down.

I have a black/black/grey convertible and I live in Phoenix. It doesn't get much hotter than that!

Do know where you live but any boat canvas shop can measure and fabricate to fit a white cover just for the cabin portion. Seen it done, its cotton so it won't scrath, but heavy so it won't blow off and can be easily folded and stored. A vette owner by me had it done and cut out the logo from his car cover and had it sewn on. Pretty cool, but I would worry about it getting stolen. A looks liitle to nice! Plain white works and won't attract attention. Stay cool and hope this helps.
