Thanks for that

a little sad to hear that, -- but then again what was revolutionary about the C O R V E T T E back then was its departure from mainstream - 'fiberglass car? what are they nuts>? ,' ... "yeah, but look John-boy the thing flys!"

today while they may have left behind that process, their trademark remains in their use of new-cutting-edge materials
(magnesium / etc)

Question:

is the rear bumper 'that hard' to remove -- should I consider removing it myself to save them an excuse to charge labour out at 75/hr?

I'm an old Stingray guy and in some ways kinda miss fiberglass since it was so easy to patch up. But it was kinda heavy FRCs are around 3100-3200lbs with the coupes a tad more. Big difference from the near 3600lbs of the old C3s

Removing the rear facia is a pretty simple process actually and worth the savings for a shop to do it if your even just a little bit mechanically inclined.

Here's a pic of the rear, sans the facia, from a very recent post. Gives you a pretty good view of what you'd have to do.

In case you were wondering...this is what your baby looks like naked
