Default Dead battery

I had a problem with the battery going dead if I didn't use my 2000 convertible for more than a week. I replaced the battery with a new "Red Top". After 2 weeks of non-use, the battery is completely dead. Is there any common problem with a short or some item which continues to draw current with the ignition off? If not, I guess I will just have to track it down circuit by circuit. Thanks for any help.

Although a lot of people may share their specific problems, the net is you may well have to get out your multimeter and start pulling fuses to see what is drawing current on yours. There are a few posts on this type of problem in C5 Tech

From what I understand this is not an uncommon occurance. There are many things that need to be powered up when the car is sitting. You need a battery tender of some type.
