When you stated that the cargo net would not stretch from one side to the other, it reminds me about a situation that I had. My Vette did not come with a cargo net. My wife purchased one from West Coast Corvettes and it wouldn't reach the nuts. To make a long story short, the cargo net for a coupe is different from a cargo net for a convertible or FRC. We were able to exchange for the correct one. Hope this helps

PMs sent I only have 3 left, they come 5 to a bag. Your vette only comes with 2, it should come with 4 since you need 2 each for the shade and the net. General got a little cheap there.

BEKS gets first crack, it is his thread, sorry. I am paying it foward, they are free.

Same thing happened to me! Love the cargo net. I put everything in there - no problems.

That's how I use mine.
I can reach stuff in the area behind the passenger seat while seated in the driver's seat...
and it doesn't get in the way while putting my golf clubs in the back.

Does someone have a photo of a coupe cargo net so i can keep my milk and eggs from rolling around the cargo area?
Even my Blonde Wife knew that

Evil-Twin is correct in his installation, your net goes in the back.

Hook at the top and bottom, and this is the correct way to secure the top:
