HUD Quirks...
Very nice day today here in central Texas so I took the '04 CE Conv out for a drive. Still getting use to it, has only 4K miles and 3K was on a trip out west 
I was heading up a north bound highway at 1:00 pm. Looked at my HUD and everything, I mean everthing that it could display, as showing. Also it was now a blue rather than the standard green. OH NO....Not a visit to the dealer!!! 
Luckly that was not to be. What was happening was that the sun was in the correct position to shine right down into the HUD projection unit. As soon as I turned on a curve the shadow slid across the display and there was my HUD working just as it should.
So, with the sun and road direction just right, you HUD will go bye-bye

Nothing to worry about. But I too had some questions the first time it happened to me.
