Default 30 Mpg

I went on a 150+ mile trip yesterday. Mostly freeway driving in 6th gear. I got 30 mpg! I think the corvette should be considered a "Green" vehicle along with those ugly hybrids.

You are not wrong. Just came back from Campbellsvill KY off of a business trip and averaged 31.4.
I love it on those downhill runs when it says 99.8 on the DIC.
Mive is best at 70-72 mph with the windows up on cruise.
Moves between 29.8 and 37.6 on the flat wit slight rises and falls in the road.
I did notice on this trip. Was a warmer day, that my TP went from the normal fill at 30 psi, try to keep it that way with all temps, to 31 in all 4 corners.

Considering the hybrids get 50+ in town, I'll disagree.

But horsepower and mileage together, the vette cant be beat.

Did you guys also know that the C5 is considered a LEV, low emissions vehicle? What can I say, I drive my Vette to save the environment.

It's very rare when I get under 20 mpg around town. My first trip to Florida, was 30.4 - 32 mpg. At the start of the trip, I only had 300 miles on the car.

I picked up my 98 M6 vert in Florida and drover back to Northern VA. My speedometer ran 85MPH + most of the way and I averaged 27 MPG. No one was more suprised than me. This is my first vetteand I still can't believe the milage I get on the highway. Twice what my Denali gets. My vette is my economy car as far as fuel efficiency.

I talked to a guy the other day that had one of those new little RX-8's. Look nice, got the new "rotery" engine .........but he hated the gas, only 16mpg all around........

Gotta love my vette, I didn't have the heart to tell him I get 28-30mpg on the highway and 19mpg in the city.
