Default Magnesium Wheel question

I went and got new tires today and they barely nicked one of the wheels. It looks like the material under the finish is white. Is that the magnesium and if so will it corrode. Should i put some touch up paint on it? Has anyone ever curbed theirs and what should I do if it happens?

When Goodyear patch my tire, they scratch about an inch on the lip of my magnesium wheel. It has been over 7 month now but I didn't notice any rust on it. I guess magnesium wheels don't rust.

i have chips on the painted surface of one of mine showing white also. i asked about it a while back and the response was that the white was a protective coating or some such thing. that's not the actual magnesium, so says the forum.

I have some good chips in mine. I don't think Magnesium will rust its kind of like aluminum. For some reason these wheels chip real easy. I will be getting my Mag wheels power coated soon.
