C5/C6 Comparison .Gif - Fooled Co-Workers
I asked 3 of my Engineering co-workers (2 with no Vette knowledge, 1 with just some) to:
(1)pick the new model in the .gif,
(2)pick the one they would choose or like to have
The answers: All three said the C5 was the latest model and would choose it over the c6. Asking why, they said the smoother lines. Try this at your office....but pick people with no vette knowledge. Yes this has been beaten to death but still fun to try your friends. Especially those that always ask when I am getting a C6, when they have no idea what a C6 looks like.
Of course I love both!

What's funny is that the comparison isn't even close. Look at the bottom of the front rim, and you'll notice how 'raised' the C5 is in that picture. In real life, the front end of the c5 is lower.

The front tire sidewall on the C6 pic is wayyyy too thin. My front 19's don't even have that little sidewall.
What I see in that pic, is that the C5 does correctly (proportionally) change from 18 to the 19" C6 rear wheels...but seems to go from 17" to 20's in the front.
Whoever created the pic decided to enhance the C6 by having zero fender gap above the front tires, while not changing the overall ground clearance. It is not scaled correctly, other than to make for a smooth transition between the two cars.

The wheelbase doesn't look like it changes either. Although it was a good job of making a smooth transition, I don't believe it's a fair comparison for either side.
As far as people choosing the C5, people will always choose what's more familiar to them. Even people who are not Vette guys have seen them by the thousands, so it's real hard to get an unbiased opinion.

I like them both, and some day may have a C6 in the garage. But for now, the looks of the C5 are simply awesome to me.

That is an awesome picture. I like the fact that the car is longer and more sleek looking. The only thing I really like about the C6 appearance is the size of the rims now, and the front looking just like a ferrari.
Go C5!!

Designers are pushing edges and flat surfaces again....some consumers just haven't learned the new car styling fads yet. For examples, check any new Chrysler/Dodge, the Focus or Mustang, any Acura, all the new Caddy's, Viper, and the RX-8. Smooth and round is old stuff.

Another exampe is the original AC Cobra shape is as fresh today as it was when it was first done.
