Cost me $1150.00 to ship from Germany to East Coast. I was 20 km from France border. That should give you an estimate. "Warning" I suggest to get a private container/extra $500.00. My vette arrived with $2500.00 worth of damage. Also, double check your insurance carrier, some do not cover international waters. Others cover when it arrives to port (poe)/ when it drives off port(pod). Good Luck. Lotta fun to drive over there, however, be prepared for tiny parking spots and door dings, Europeans don't care!
If he doesn't pipe up straight away, get a private message to luS1fer on this forum - he imported his Z06 to the UK last year, so he should know about the transport costs.
If you're importing the car into France you'll have to pay VAT (an EU curse), which is on a sliding scale depending on the age of the car. If it's brand new it'll be 19.5% on the value of the car and the shipping costs. The older the car the lower the tax. I imported my C5 from the UK to France so the taxes were already paid.
Also, in order to register the car you'll have to get a type approval certificate or single vehicle approval from a local Bureau des Mines. I think this is around 200 Euros and there are some bits to bolt on - rear fog light, side repeaters . .
The the tax to register it is, if my memory serves me, about 800 Euros - this tax is on a sliding scale based on power output and seats and the like. A standard C5 coupe is in group 26, hence the price. Our family estate car is in group 6. But after registration there are no repeat licence taxes, ever.
