I think the C5 will become a classic corvette. Of course, all vettes are nice, but certain body styles seem to really stand out over the decades. And, I feel the C5 will be the next. Why? For one reason the C5 will most likely be the last corvette to have pop-up headlights. What do you think?

That would be nice, but don't hold your breath.
I have no doubt that my car, if I keep it up, will last 30 years or longer. Look at all the early '70's F body cars still on the road. Those were not put together anywhere near as well as the C5 and yet they are still running.
Of course in 30 years, I'll be 83 and may not drive it as fast as I do now. I might even start observing the posted limits more carefully at that point...
So...maybe I'll leave it to my now 5 year-old grandson to enjoy. He loves it when I punch it a little bit and do the "power-boost" as he calls it. And maybe he'll keep it well maintained or perhaps trade it for a new C9.
Who knows. Maybe by then we'll be driving those little Hybrids...

I think all Corvettes will eventually become classic and the C5 is probably more likely to be because of it's popularity and good looks.
I think c5 are getting more popular now since they are selling for cheaper than before, and eventually it will be hard to come across one.
im suprised that i havnt seen a c6 in norcal yet.
I think they will be wanted more and more as the C6 continues to go up in price, and the price of the C5 will go up as they become harder to find. If it's maintained well, I think it will be a good investment for the owner. It is distinctive.
If it doesn't who cares, they are made to be driven and they are fun to drive.

Just make sure that some of you guys keep some garage queens so I can buy them off of you (cheap) when my 01 wear out
exactly.. .you know what i mean......but i agree with EG's sentiments as well...
some people think that the datsun 510s are a classic, i think they are buckets. the c5 will be a classic depending on how much you value it. realy doesnt matter how much they sell for.
I really don't care what happens to the price of the C5, but it's never mistaken for another car. The design is timeless. To me, that's what makes a car a classic.

thats true...didn't look @ it like that...oh,wait...yes i did..that's why i already consider mine a classic... ...i see what you mean though..on another note i think it's amazing how i can see a c5 on the street and it still has that "wow" factor for me...even when i'm driving my own..it's an awesome machine..
