No thats the way its supposed to operate .The up/down switch behind the volume control can be adjusted to make this happen or not.

Maybe you should read the owners manual and see what else you car can do.

Enjoy!

Volume is automatically adjusted to the ambient noise level. This can be set by the ring around the volumn control.

It's called SCV (Speed Compensated Volume). It the switch located behind the volume ****. All the way to the top, makes the radio much louder as the speeds increase, all the way to the bottom, turns off the feature.

I agree - reading the owner's manual is probably a good idea!

SVC I think is what's it's called.

There's 4 settings for it. Off, 1, 2, and 3. Off will keep the sound at exact same volume. 1, 2 and 3 will increase/decrease the volume to match vehicle speed, at their corresponding level of intensity.

Hope this helps.

I didn't think it was the reading part that made you go blind.

My daughters malibu also does that when you go faster the radio gets louder when you slow down it gets lower it's suppose to work like that you are not going nuts.
