Default Z06 wheels

If anyone can help guide me on my decision it would be greatly appreciated. I want to change my stock wagon wheels to z06 wheels. I like chrome but I am a little nervous about the weight, balance and integrity of after market wheels. If anyone has after market z06 wheels are there certain makes that are comparable in weight to my stock wagon wheels? If I decide on oem z06 wheels will my tires fit those okay and where can I get the best deal on any of these? I never thought I could be so confused in making a decision on new wheels.

..the for sale section here might point you in the right direction. The guys selling wheels and tires know all the good and bad combo's. You can PM them with any questions you might have.....Good luck....

One thing to know if you do not already is the difference in size.

OEM Z06 wheels are 1" wider than your wagon wheels.

9.5" fronts
10.5" rears

I went through the same agonizing process. I didn’t know if the look I wanted was worth the extra weight and possible substandard wheels. I decided to go for the bling factor and installed Z06 size Chrome C6 repro wheels with Z06 size Good Year F1 Supercar tires. I am keeping my original wagon wheels for the drag strip (for the few times a year that I go).

I can tell you this setup is definitely heavier than the original wagon wheels with Good Year F1 GS tires. I didn’t specifically weight each, but my guess is that it added a good 8-10 pounds per wheel/tire. I am also getting some wheel hop from first time with this setup (which I’m trying to resolve).

Nate with Corvette Garage is offering a great price on Z06 Repro's. I'm highly considering ordering a set myself. Unfortunately I have no knowledge of their weight or quality. I'm might have to be the Forums "test pilot" on these. They sure look good! This link will take you to Nate's thread: http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show....php?t=1011663 Others opinions are welcomed.
