Does anyone out there have advice on how to correct the wrinkle problem on the side of the rear fascia? Seems like a something is too tight at the attachment point or a shim is missing or something simple...
I've seen other cars with this characteristc in varying degrees, but mine, 2002 Electron Blue Coupe, appears worse than others. It is also worse on the left side.
I bought it new, so I know it has never been hit. I took it to the dealer and they didn't find any bulletins or offer any solution.
Or, should I just learn to live with it, as I've done for the past 2 1/2 years?

Pictures speak a thousand words.....I'm not sure what you're talking about. Post some pics and I have no doubt if it's on a Corvette, someone here has seen it before.
I think I know the area that you're talking about. Just behind the rear wheel in the rear facia. Some are worse than others. I don't think that I have heard of any fixes for this. If you get under there you might be able to get a better feel for a fix. If you come up with something take some pics I am sure others here would be very interested.

Thanks CombatVette!
I don't have a camera, but the picture of CombatVette's car shows the area I was concerned about. You can see the wavy reflection just behind the side reflector on the rear fascia.
Since the dealer doesn't seem to know how to fix it, I thought some of you might or a body shop.
I appreciate the responses and many thanks.
shurite44, it's the area located behind and bit below the rear red side marker (where the rear bumper piece meets the left quarter panel)...I have the same thing on both sides...
Are you refering to were the two panels meet up together and how they're flush up against each other.
The front bumper and rear do the same, they touch the other panels.
I think that's the way it's supposed to be, mines the same, I think all the vettes are, go look at a ton of vette pictures, they are all that way.........if that's the wrinkle you're refering too?
I have the same "concaveness" (if that's a word) on both my 98 and the 02. It starts right behind the rear quarter panel seam. It is almost as though the rear fascia is a slightly less rigid material and therefore caves in. I have noticed it in the past but it never really bothered me until now....Gees, thanks alot Sierra for pointing that out!
The panels are fiberglass and I think the bumpers are made of a speciallized material that's extra thin and light weight, I think it's called writing paper......

I can see what you are talking about in the pic, but have not seen any fixes for it. Maybe taking the fasica loose and adjusting it on the car would help, but that is just a guess.
