I asked this in the audio forum, but didn't get a response after 1 week, so I thought I'd try here. I bought an iPod and want to connect it to the aux in on my factory CD player. My car is a 99, and my stereo guy said that my radio would either have one big 20 or 22 pin connector, or three smaller connectors. Without ripping the stereo out (which is an option, but im lazy), can you all help me out?
do what i did... if your head unit has controller outputs for a Cd changer, you're in luck. the connectors for the CD changer are under the kick panel under the passenger's feet. You can buy a PIE adapter that hooks up into this, and as outputs has 2 RCA cables. A simple converter cable to mini-stereo to RCA, and you're all finished.
I actually did this to hook up my XM radio. I have a small a/b switch behind the passenger seat to switch the mini stero from XM to ipod, and leave my ipod in the center consol.
not trying to be a ***** but try to search the audio forum. this topic has been discussed ad nauseam.
There are interfaces that will alow you to control your ipod through your stock head unit, simple aux inputs for any audio device, and even cheap interface options ($20) if you have a cd changer.
