I don't know why everyone is so negitive here. I did this mod and can now spin my tires and make smoke like the drag racing cars on TV. After doing this mod woman throw themselves me, at car shows everyone wants to hang out at my Vette with the hood open checking out my bypass mod.
Shortly after doing this mod I met the girl of my dreams, I was promoted at work and given an extra week of paid vacation per year. I just bought a lotto ticket and am keeping my fingers crossed.
I would recommend the mod
Damn man, shut up! How many times do I have to you this mod only works if only a few of us know about the "side effects"?? lol

And I just saved a bunch of money on my insurance at Geiko
Actually it's good for a solid 16 rwhp gain. Since that would be more than I could handle I decided to leave this mod for the pro's.
While the concept is solid, ie lowering the intake air temp the air is not in contact with the throttle body long enough for any temp change to occur. The reason GM routed coolant through the TB was to prevent the throttle plate from sticking in cold weather, not a common occurence.
You'll gain just as much HP removing the dealers sticker from the rear fascia.
I put the math to paper a while back on another one of these threads... I figured that at 4,000 rpms, the colum of air was in the intake system for about .23 seconds.
