Default Drag Racing Automatic

I have a 98 C5, is it alright to run through the gears manually when drag racing?. And is it bad for my Trans?

Probably wouldn't hurt it, but why? The A4 is pretty good at selecting shift points, and, if you want different ones, the shift points can be adjusted with a programmer. (Others here know a lot more about that than I...)

Yup.

Not unless you miss a shift and over-rev. But your engine has a rev-limiter, yes?

Its not bad for it but you will find that putting it in 3rd and leaving it there along with turning off traction control will yield the best 1/4 mile times.

You can't shift better than the computer. If you don't like your shift points reprogram your computer. Manually shifting your A4 is not recommended, especially if you have a stock tranny.
