My trunk CD changer jammed. What happened was a CD-R didn't retract back into the holder when I changed CD's from the unit in the dash. So, I took it apart. There are a two screws on either side of the unit and two more by the electrical connection. Remove them and the cover will come off in two pieces. Then on the bottom of the unit is a white release catch if you will. Move that by flicking it with your finger and voilla, the CD holder will pop out. Then just reach in and grab the CD that didn't retract. I suggest throwing it away. (I didn't and ended up doing the same thing all over again.) Put the unit back together and re-install and you're done. I hope this helps.
same problem for me, but i had just purchased the car from out of state. i proceded to re-jam the cd player 3 or 4 times before i learned my lesson. its now on my dining room table waiting to go get fixed. funny thing is that i would never use it - i use my ipod w/itunes. fits perfectly in the cup holder and the open cup holder door and the wrap around dash keeps the ipod from moving at all. But i still have to get the cd player fixed - the principle of it.
Factory installed in the middle compartment. its face up - the bottom of the cd changer is actualy facing the license plate with the top facing the front of the car, you slip the cartridge strait down into the unit. i push the cartridge and get some resistance (like when you put a tape in the VCR), i expected the resistance but i figured that it would pull it in like a vcr does - but it never did. the unit goes through its "thing" but nothing happens. wont eject - have to "help it" manually
I had a similar issue with mine, but all i had to do was take the cover off, and manually turn the motor a few turns and re-applied power and it popped it right back out.
seemed lke the motor jammed up and the changer didn't know what to do with itself.
